Did you know that the cup is important for enjoying a great coffee? Its shape, material, thickness, diameter, and color all play a role in determining whether or not a perfect espresso is made.

For this reason, the Ernani cup was designed to offer the best results, both visually, tastefully, and olfactoryly, as well as having a modern, clean, and linear look, perfect for making the coffee the true protagonist of the experience.

• The ideal material for creating a professional espresso cup is hard feldspar porcelain fired at approximately 1400°C. Ernani chose this material because it combines wear resistance, hygiene, optimal heat retention (heat dispersion is slower than any other material), and aesthetic appeal, thanks to its long-lasting brilliance.
• The cup's thickness helps regulate the espresso's temperature; the lower part of the cup is thicker to better retain heat, while the upper part is slightly thinner to provide a pleasant sensation when it touches the lips. The cup's initial temperature should be 40°C to maintain the coffee's body, the espresso's temperature, and the color of the crema for longer.
• The unique shape was designed to enhance the flavor, aroma, and appearance of the espresso. The smaller circumference allows the crema to persist and develop over time, enhancing the aromas thanks to reduced air dispersion. The inner base follows the classic elliptical "egg" shape to prevent the crema from breaking up during extraction and promote its streaking, thus preserving its firmness and color longer.
• The capacity is 65cc, suitable for satisfying the rule of the perfect espresso, 25cc of coffee dispensed in 25 seconds;
• The bright, shiny white color of feldspar porcelain is the most suitable for the inside of the cup, because it makes it easier to evaluate the espresso and, thanks to the strong chromatic contrast, enhances the warm, inviting color of the espresso crema;
• The handle is comfortable to grip with two fingers, preventing direct contact of the middle finger with the body of the cup, which could cause an unpleasant sensation of heat.
